'Frequently Asked Questions'

Q: Please explain exactly what the St. Francis Capital Campaign is about?
A: During the spring 2005, our parish is conducting a fund raising drive to support much
needed capital improvements to our buildings and grounds.  Capital improvements
including major repairs and include such items as: replacing boilers, repairing/replacing
roofs, replacing or other windows structural items, upgrading electrical systems to
conform to current code and other similar high cost repairs.

Q: I contribute every Sunday, why can't that money be used for these projects?
A: Weekly and other routine, recurring collections support the day to day operations
at our church and school.  These include electricity, heating, teaching and staff salaries
among other day-to day expenses outlined in our annual budgets. The Capital Campaign
is necessary to address large cost repairs or upgrades that cannot be funded in any
   other way.

Q: Who decides on what projects are included in the Capital Campaign?
A:  Much effort and study goes into determining what projects are funded by the
Campaign.  The parish Plant and Finance Committees have principal responsibility to
insure our buildings and grounds are safe and maintained according to the present
codes.  Additionally, we have enlisted engineering assistance from the Archdiocese to
review our planned projects and they have concurred on our current plan.

Q: How are you sure that your cost estimates are reasonable?
A:  All awards for contract work are reviewed by our Finance and Plan Committees with the
assistance of the Archdiocesan engineers and contract experts.  Where possible,
multiple bids are solicited from reputable firms.

Q: Didn't St. Francis do a Capital Campaign once before?
A: Yes, twelve years ago. That campaign raised nearly $1 million over 5 years and
resulted in many  capital improvements.  This campaign is necessary to address those
projects necessary at this time to conform to code requirements, improve the safety
of our buildings, improve efficiency and reduce recurring maintained or repair costs.

Q: Will all of the campaign money be used for the listed projects?
A: A majority of the money raised in the campaign will support the project list.
However, as with our first campaign, a portion will go to create a "maintenance fund"
that will pay for smaller projects over the next years and other necessary unanticipated
   repairs.

Q: Are we paying anyone to run the St. Francis Capital Campaign?
A:  This effort is entirely supported by your fellow volunteer parishioners at no cost.

Q: If I have any questions, who do I call?
A: You can contact the Rectory directly to speak to our Pastor, Father Joe Doyle or
you can contact Bob or Camille Criscuolo our Campaign Co-Chairperson.

Q: My company matches contributions to charitable organizations, who do I
  contact to complete these forms?
A: Please contact the rectory and someone will get back to you.

Q: Do you need volunteers to help with the Campaign?
A: This is a parish effort and every effort is welcome. Please contact Bob or Camille
Criscuolo to discuss volunteering for our campaign.

Q: I want to help but cannot donate a large sum of money.  Is my smaller donation
  welcome?
A: Many pledge plans are available to spread your donation over time and ease
payments.  Please review our pledge plans and contact the Rectory to discuss your
  donation.

Q: I cannot donate at this time, what can I do to help?
A: We only ask that you donate what your means will allow.  Prayers, volunteer time,
and support are other ways to support our campaign.

Q: How will I get the details about the campaign?
A: Every parishioner will receive campaign materials in the mail at their home. Display
boards are available throughout the parish, our St. Francis Website will have updated
information and general information sessions will be available to answer all questions.
At any time, you can contact the Rectory or Campaign Co-Chairpersons Bob and
Camille Criscuolo for the latest information on our campaign.

Q: How can I be sure my donation will be used for the restoration and repair of
  future maintenance  projects?
A: As a result of this campaign, a separate account will be established for all
restoration and repairs that will take place over the next three to five years. All monies
collected will be used solely for the projects that have been outlined for this current
   campaign.
