A LETTER FROM FR. JOE |
March 2005 |
Dear Friends of St. Francis: |
Twelve years ago, the
generosity of the parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi allowed us
to raise nearly $1 million
to restore and upgrade many of the buildings that serve our |
parish
family.
As a homeowner or apartment dweller,
you can appreciate the fact that after a while |
your home needs paint, bathrooms need
updating, roofs need to be repaired, and |
electrical systems need to be brought
up to code. I want you to think of St. Francis |
as our home, and
our home is in need of some very necessary improvements. |
The attached information
lays
out for you just what has to be done if we are to keep our |
home in good shape. As you
can guess, these improvements require funding that we are |
unable to finance through
our ordinary collections. That is why we will be conducting a
capital campaign in 2005,
entitled Restoring for our Future. Our goal is to raise
$1,000,000 over the next
three years. |
During the following six
weeks, I will be asking each and every parishioner to consider
making a pledge to help us
restore the buildings that allow us to do so much for one |
another. Please look
over the attached information and see what your means will allow
you to contribute. Over
the next couple of weeks, we will also be conducting |
information sessions.
This is an opportunity for us to get together and discuss the |
needs of the church
in-depth. |
In the meantime, thank you for your
continued support. Your generosity continues to |
amaze me.
Please pray that
Restoring for Our Future will help guarantee that future.
May God bless you all. |
Sincerely, |
Father Joseph C. Doyle |
